In October 1998, a group of 75 individuals from Ethiopia, Iraq, Sudan, and Syria, arrived in a British Sovereign Base Area after a boat in which they were travelling to Italy foundered off the coast of Cyprus. Now, 18 years later, 6 of these individuals and their children remain stranded without refugee status and are still denied entry to the UK.
